Adidas Superstar Metallic

One of my favourite colours is silver; I only recently realised that Argentina was named after the French word for silver - argent. Actually, their general term for money is l'argent and 'keep the change' is guardez la money.

Right ... trainers. I do love 'em and I bought these last year from eBay.

I used to buy Adidas Superstars years ago from Argos because they sold a woman's size 9 and therefore I could buy more pastelly sneakers. The soles are much bouncier than I recall and I do believe that Sir Robbie Williams name checked them in his much derided 2006 hit 'Rudebox' in the line 'grab your shell toes and your fat laces, ... rock the three stripes, not the Asics.'

Williams failed to inform his audience that the tongues of Superstar sneakers are very stiff and therefore a pair of full length socks is preferable to the briefer trainer sock. Maybe this is one of the main reasons why the Rudebox album was such a flop and ended up being used as the base for a motorway?

Vibrating Feet

To combat my increasingly middle-aged wibble wobble I bought this home exercise vibration plate from Amazon.

Here it is, in action, from the calf downwards. I fear that the sight of my undulating fat cells may break the Internet.

Adidas Superstar Slip Ons

I bought these in the ASOS sale last year and have only worn them twice. They're very comfortable, but due to their fabric/elastic construction, they're not suitable for wearing during the winter months.

I think that you'll agree that they're pretty darn funky.

Doc Martens Flora Boots

Last year I bought these beauties. Since then I have only worn them on about five occasions. They're a pair of Doc Martens Flora Chelsea boots, which is a style that I think is still available (sub: please check*). The sole, although the patented DMs Airwair type, is much thinner than in the standard 8 hole Pascal boots.

Here they are after being dusted off a bit.

Please note that I'm au chausette naturel, but that's only for the purposes of taking the pictures. I never venture out in boots sans socks, it's not a thing I'd endorse whatsoever. In fact, I do own some spevial Doc Socks which have some internal padding located at key pinch points.

A little bit about the leather type on these boots; as you can see grom thr box, they're Kensington arcadia rouge, which is a leather treatment/colourway that rubs off during use and therefore gives a marbled effect. I haven't worn these enough as yet, but only time will tell.

Scaly Heels

Last night I filled a large white plastic washing up bowl with warm water (not the same one we use in the kitchen for soaking the dishes, believe me!) and soaked my feet in a solution of Radox bath salts for twenty-three minutes or so whilst watching the inanity of QVC on Virgin Media channel 742. I do love how excited the presenters and the 'stylist' (errr ... who gets to be one of those?) get about clothes as mundane as pull on leisure trousers or a floaty sleeved polyester-rich blouse?

I then sloughed off all of the hard skin from my heels with my Soap and Glory foot file. I had to use the portable Dyson to suck up the remains ... yum!  Anyway, a day on my feet feel deliciously soft and there's no rasping feeling against the sheets at night.

Fluffy Birkies

Last year I was browsing through Amazon and what did I see? A pair of clunky, cloud-like apparitions which turned out to be Birkenstock Arizonas with a full faux sheepskin lining. Yep, they're quite fugly, but boy, they're so comfy and cosy.

Mmm - I'm writhing around in the sheer tactile loveliness. Yum!

Here's the side view ...

Autumn Feet

Hello, it's me again and here's a picture of my feet. I injured the left one last week whilst climbing up as part of cleaning the Venetian blinds. One of the tendons is hurting.

Anyhoo, winter footwear - it'll cause blisters, that's for sure.
