Bowser Socks
Now if you're a fan of retro gaming like me then you'll appreciate these Primark socks. These particular pair feature Mario's nemesis, the archvillain Bowser, who is some kind of spiny turtle. The other designs on the five pack are: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and another character whose name eludes me ...

Ah, Bowser. Incongruously portrayed by Hollywood wild man Dennis Hopper in the ill-conceived Super Mario Bros movie.
ReplyDeleteMy personal favourite of all the Mario gang is probably Birdo, the curious, funnel-faced egg-spitter.
Oh that film, I did once rent the physical DVD from Lovefilm (remember them?) And yes, it was so bad that I had to turn it off. Ditto the Masters Of The Universe film starring a young Courteney Cox.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Mushroom Kingdom resident is probably Tommy Lakitu or Plessy. I also have a bit of a thing for Yoshi, who performs the cute little kicky leg thing when Mario leaps on his back.
Did you ever play Super Mario Bros 2, wherein you must hurl radishes at your foes in order to progress towards your goal? There Gould be more of that sort of thing in the games of today, and in modern life generally.
ReplyDeleteNo, I've never played that, but it sounds great. I always thought that Wario should turn Mario and Luigi to the dark side in the mash up 'Grand Theft Mario'. Poor Princess Peach!
